Here's how it happened:
My husband's probably wiping away some tears right now. "Sunrise... sunset... swiftly fly the years..."
So, you see, I have worked myself out of a job. (Actually, I didn't do it, they grow up whether you're ready for it or not!). It's not that they don't need me anymore-- they do! But not in the same way. The job title just really doesn't fit anymore.
I started thinking about my current job description. I no longer have to drive anyone anywhere (other than to the airport!) I can't remember the last time I cleaned up puke (thank the Lord) and they don't really like to have their cheeks pinched. Cookies are still good. But my current job description is more along the lines of advice-giving, meal-making, home-managing, book-keeping, Bible-teaching, blog-writing, photography-practicing, and parent-chauffering. Didn't you like the first one? Sometimes people ask for my advice and sometimes I just give it out for free.
My new job title is still under construction. I just do what I do. It's not just a job, it's an adventure. Speaking of jobs-- I've got cookies to bake, clothes to wash and a checkbook to balance. See ya!
